Title: Whatever Lola Wants: La volonté de danser dans le respect de la tradition
Review: Pour offrir à une association d’apprentissage à la danse orientale. pour Motiver et trouver le vrai sens de cette danse , car au travers de ce film et une partie de la vie d’ Asmahan, c’est la motivation et l’esprit et la volonté de comprendre comment et pourquoi danser.

Review: Un très beau film qui fait voyager et qui ne pourra que faire rêver toutes les femmes qui apprennent la danse orientale. Un divertissement agréable et riche en couleurs que l’on ne se lasse pas de regarder en rêvant de connaître le même destin que l’héroïne…sourire…

Title: Le + : Découverte de la culture musulmane
Review: Ce film démarre lentement, et le plaisir monte en puissance. Alors oui on a aucune surprise, MAIS il y a en plus de cette histoire prévisible une belle découverte de la culture musulmane en matière de danse. C’est une belle histoire avec des chorégraphies très jolies à voir.

Review: What I like about Whatever Lola wants is the fact that the story of two cultures (Arabic and American) who meet each other, is told from the Arabic side. And with a great deal of humor. The title, the music, it has all the ingredients to be a wrong movie, and yet it isn’t. There is a friendly critisism on both the Arabic and the American (called European) culture. The best part of the movie is where the two women get nearer to eachother and the all American Lola gets Ismahan to take a step out of here imprissoned world. On the other side Ismahan learns Lola other virtues than she has learned so far.In the interview with both actresses Carmen Lebbos (Ismahan) says Lola is a fool to follow her Egyptian lover who is from another culture and another religion. Laura Ramsey (Lola) askes Carmen Lebbos if she wouldn’t do exactly the same thing. Both showing how close they are to there role.Ismahans letter to Lola on the end, telling what the meeting had ment to her gives insight in what is worthwile for her.A recommend movie!

Review: The film was like taking a trip to Egypt and the Middle East without leaving my living room. Script is a little weak, but Laura Ramsey shines in this one. A shame it did not make it to the big box office. I thoroughly enjoyed the art and culture content of the film, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in dance, is a dancer, or has an interest in Egyptian or Middle Eastern culture.

Review: Film ambientato in Egitto, piacerà senz’altro agli amanti della danza del ventre. Classica commedia americana, quindi di ottimo livello per la confezione generale del film. Un voto in meno perché la copia che mi è arrivata ogni tanto si blocca, dalla prima visione, forse qualche micrograffio.Attenzione, è in lingua francese. Perfetto per una serata con amici.
