Title: Un DVD plein d’humour et de satire
Review: Cela faisait fort longtemps que je rêvais de voir ce film et il est encore plus drôle et satirique que ce à quoi je m’attendais vraiment une très bonne comédie à l’ancienne comme je l’apprécie

Review: L’épatante Tsilla Chelton dans le rôle d’une vieille femme aigrie, méchante et autoritaire au pays des « bisounours » : ses neveux naïfs de gentillesse et de patience. Catherine Jacob est parfaite dans son personnage. Il y a toute une palette d’émotions, et pas seulement du rire. C’est une excellente comédie dans le style vachard et on passe un bon moment devant son écran.

Review: Tsilla Chelton är helt underbar som den elaka arvtanten, men att filmen blev ett mästerverk beror naturligtvis också på en utomordentlig casting med fingertoppskänsla, förnämlig regi och ett manus i absolut superklass. Det här är faktiskt en film, som man skulle kunna överväga att låta sig begravas med.När de ändå till slut valde att restaurera filmen, så borde de ha tillfogat subtitles på några andra språk än enbart franska – men det var förmodligen Tatie Danielle själv, som bestämde: « – Folk får väl lära sig franska! »

Review: My brother and I watched this film in horror, about 20 years ago… With the impending thoughts that this is what our mother would turn into someday. Thankfully, 20 years later? We have things like oxycontin and xanix. Ever wonder why people become addicted to their prescription meds and die? It’s because no one likes anyone who’s mean. Really, it’s better they have medication…Tatie Danielle is manipulative, a trouble-maker. She feigns to be dependent in her illness, sneaking and lurking around behind the scenes every chance she gets. And she also gets a private charge out of hurting other people! (This is what people do when they don’t like themselves.)The theme of this movie is psychological, satirical observation. We get to witness Tatie, able to screw around, mess with people’s heads, constantly hitting them under the belt and using her moods and financial leverage to control people’s lives. And people kow-tow to her… Because she has a house, some money left from the death of her husband, and her pension. She gets away with a lot of bad behavior just because she can! Casually watching her own house-sitter fall to her death, you can’t help but wonder – what had Tatie’s marriage been like?! But that’s just the beginning… Surrounded by a quirky cast of characters, this film is funny and unnerving; sure to remind you of someone you know!

Review: This is in my top 10 list of Favourite French comedies…If you have even the slightest twisted sense of Humour you will love this.A lonely old lady living with/cared for by what appears to an even older Housekeeper,spend hers days being…well to put it politely « not very nice deliberately »..ends up living with Nephews family where the fun gets even better. I don’t want to spoil the ending..though I thought i knew what was coming, then thought I was wrong…but an excellent twist…lets just say we don’t always get what we deserve !!Please don’t let the subtitles turn you off,2 reasons 1st- the language used is at a level any O’level student or less should understand(though don’t take this as the film is NOT well written, it is,the spoken words are just perfect, in creation & timing. 2nd: The well written subtitles are great leaving you more than enough time to see the all important looks on people faces, and underhand events…).I would really recommend this is anyone above the 15+ age limit, An excellent well made Black comedy.
