Title: Meilleur Blockbuster de 2013, même si on attend une certaine suite…
Review: Tout est dans le titre!!!Le meilleur blockbuster de 2013!!! Même si on attend la suite du Hobbit avec impatience, on a affaire ici au spectacle le plus généreux que cette année nous a donné, en plus le scénario pour une fois est cohérent et pas complètement à la ramasse comme dans Transformers 3!!!Du cinéma vraiment spectaculaire, un vrai film d’action avec des effets spéciaux visuels absoluments magnifiques, des héros vraiment héroïques enfin vraiment tout ce que j’attend de ce genre de film quoi!!!De l’action, du spectaculaire, un truc à peu près cohérent, des héros que j’aime et surtout une vision artistique cohérente, et pour ça Del Toro est un des meilleurs réalisateurs vivants, le gage de qualité artistique absolu qu’on puisse donner à un film!!!Et là les amis il s’est vraiment laché!!!N’allez pas voir ce film en pensant au labyrinthe de Pan, pensez plutôt à Hell Boy 2…En fait j’ai envie de dire que ce film est a réserver à tout les vieux gamins (et ce n’est pas péjoratif) qui ont rêvé en voyant la Guerre des Etoiles et Jurrasik Parc, à ceux qui ont envie de l’aspect montagnes russes du cinéma populaire.Ce film est vraiment une réussite et on en a enfin pour son argent! Et ce n’est pas rien de le dire parce que ça fait un moment que j’attend de voir un truc qui m’épate en rentrant dans un cinéma!!!Pour ce qui est de la présente édition Blu-ray que dire sinon que l’image est vraiment superbe et que le son n’est pas en reste et que pour une fois la 3D n’est pas un gadget rajouté, les effets étant ici particulièrement bien intégrés au film (à la Titanic 3D). Un véritable bonheur!C’est probablement la meilleure édition francophone disponible pour le moment et je vous conseille vivement de vous jeter dessus.

Title: Transformers + Godzilla = GENIAL
Review: Pacific Rim c’est du MEGA COMBAT , robot VS monstre alien !En lisant les critiques de certains ,on est influencé par des commentaires négatifs qui disent du mal des acteurs, du scénario , du son , de l’action etc… et bien au contraire dans ce film j’ai vu des acteurs très réalistes , un scénario pas prise de tête mais très correct et donc des personnages bien campés et qui existent, une défonce visuelle et sonore sur des combats bien réels !on peut s’ennuyer sur des films de 90 mn , et bien là ,sur 125 mn je n’ai pas vu le temps passer !Bien sur il y a des situations convenues et des enchainements prévisibles mais c’est une guerre totale et vous ne verrez pas des champs fleuris !Vous avez déjà eu des résumés du film mais je rajouterai qu’il y a du rythme,du massacre ( pas du gore!) , du sacrifice et que rien n’est baclé même si 125 mn c’est trop court quand c’est si bon ! c’est du Blockbuster GEANT !Pacific Rim est une très bonne SF de combat de robots géants qui relègue les anciens Godzilla japonais ( avec tout le respect néanmoins que l’on doit à ces vieux monuments du cinéma) au temps de l’age des cavernesPour rappel , il y a des hommes et des femmes derrière ces Jaegers et c’est grâce à eux aussi que ce film a été un régal , pas comme certains robots multi-fonctions téléguidés !Personnellement j’ai aimé Transformer 3 mais Pacif Rim est plus mature et réaliste pour l’ambiance générale et l’ambiance combats !Pacific Rim CREVE L’ECRAN ! Régalez vous!

Title: Spectaculaire
Review: Franchement Pacific Rim est un film bluffant, il n’a pas eu au ciné, dans les pays occidentaux, un succès critique et commercial énorme, alors qu’il s’annonçait comme un blockbuster estival imparable et c’est injuste. Les persos sont peut être caricaturaux par moment mais ils sont bien joués grâce à un Idriss Elba grandiose comme d’hab, la patte de Guillermo Del Toro est présente dans la conception des keïju comme des jeager, ce gars est un passionné et un des meilleurs réalisateur/producteur des film de genre actuel mais pas assez reconnu, injustement même (le labyrinthe de pan est pur chef d’œuvre, blade 2 est un des meilleur film de sup héros). Franchement il est un peu cinglé, il le fallait pour entreprendre ce film quasiment infaisable sur le papier et il mène le projet à terme, un spectacle où on s’en prend plein la tête, des combats délirants parfaitement réalisés et crédible grâce à des sfx extraordinaires. Mais Pacific rim est passé à coté de son public en occident mais pas en orient où le film a cartonné au point de rapporter plus en Chine qu’aux USA même ! Ce qui fait qu’un pacific rim 2 n’est pas exclu et que j’espère que d’ici là les publics occidentaux se rendront compte à coté de quoi ils sont passés.

Review: Le disque est tagué import , mais de source européenneDonc pour le Blue ray aucun problème de lecture avec les régions puis qu’il provient de la même que nouspour L’ultra HD aucun souci non plus car pas de région tout courtCôté son on retrouve un VO en dolby Atmos et la VF en dts HD les sous-titres FR et Ang sont présent aussiDonc pour le prix par rapport à la version de chez nous il n’y a pas a hésiterL’image en HDR est magnifique c’est une très belle démonstration technique

Review: Pacific Rim got hammered pretty hard by a lot of confused critics who apparently only know Guillermo del Toro from his more artistic magical realism work and somehow missed Hellboy, Mimic, and Blade 2. Pacific Rim belongs solidly to the latter camp, but it’s a labor of love and is missing none of the flair that makes del Toro films so special. At its core it is essentially a Western Super Sentai film; heroes suit up in giant robots to battle monsters that are invading our dimension… And that’s it. You can foist all sorts of allegory onto this movie if you want, and you can plumb it for deeper meaning- it’s rich enough- but at the end of the day it’s a thrilling adventure about friendship, big robots, and monster punching. Wet blankets need not apply.Short summary: a portal to an alien world opens under the ocean and giant monsters come out. The governments of the world team up to battle them, eventually doing so with Jaegers, huge robots piloted by two psychically linked pilots who must act in tandem to control their war machines. For a while this goes swimmingly, but the money dries up and the monsters keep coming, and soon the fate of the world rests on crusty and intensely likeable Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba) who runs the world’s last 4 jaegers in an endless war against the monsters out of Hong Kong. Pentacost has a plan to destroy the portal that brings the monsters to earth but to do that he recruits emotionally scarred Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam) who must copilot with the impetuous and vengeful Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) for one last big mission. Cue a ton of fighting and explosions.This film showcases a lot of newcomer actors to great effect. The burgeoning friendship between Mori and Becket is particularly well done (it is best described as a guy-girl bromance really) and the rest of the cast does science, runs from monsters, or is Ron Perlman (yes that’s a role now) very effectively. Idris Elba gets to play to his strengths very well here and chew a lot of scenery as an AGING HERO with SAD SECRETS, and lest you think that del Toro will craft a strong black lead then stick him in an office like every other director, rest assured that Pentacost punches monsters in a big robot too.Of course the fights are the meat of the film and they do not disappoint. The robots and monsters convey a powerful sense of size and weight, as their enormous fists, tails, and jaws gnash and hit with weight and authority. Fights are almost wholly digital affairs and perhaps to save money they are usually in rainy darkness, but they are still exciting and tense. The multi-stage throwdown in Hong Kong at the film’s peak is one of the best giant monster battles ever committed to film and I say that as a die-hard Godzilla fan.Some critics have panned this film for a lack of depth, but the truth is that it does what it wants to- deliver a summer blockbuster- and it does so with unprecedented depth. Its writing, performances, and effects easily put it on par with The Avengers as a smart summer action romp, and to disrespect this film because it’s not another Pan’s Labyrinth is sort of like saying a really good ice cream sundae is undeserving of your time because it’s not a baked Alaska. Lest we overlook it too, Rim is also an ORIGINAL film in an industry plagued by remakes, sequels, and general unoriginality. You don’t have to buy it (although I would) but you should absolutely see it in theaters or rent it at least once. The standard version of Rim comes in a handsome slipcase with a fun holographic cover that APPEARS to be removable (although a true collector won’t want to of course…). The BD itself is easily navigable and all trailers are skippable. There is a whole other disk of special features which I have not yet watched. Overall this feels very premium, more like a collector’s edition than a basic retail set. The case doesn’t even have cutouts to save material as many BD cases do nowadays.Picture quality is outstanding overall. On the small screen, and without the slight softening effect of 3D, this actually reveals some sort of cheap-looking CGI in the first Kaiju encounter during the opening narration*. Thankfully, subsequent battles look great. The movie is free from excessive cleanup and boasts the odd bit of grain, making it look very filmic and natural, even when big monsters and big robots are clubbing one another with bits of dockyard.Audio is suitably bombastic and rich, with voices, music, and effects all mixed to a consistent, listenable volume range (I’m looking at you, first two Iron Man films on home video).Overall this is a great Blu Ray and watching it at home the film held up to my initial high opinion.* This is probably because much of this sequence was produced long before editing of the remainder of the film was completed.

Review: für alle anderen vielleicht mit Vorsicht zu genießen.Als alter Gojira (Godzilla) Fan war das ein großer Spaß. Hatte ich erst Befürchtungen, der Film wäre nicht so gut, hatte ich mich aber trotzdem auf diesen Film gefreut. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Für Fans des Genres, super Unterhaltung.Wie starr wirken dagegen die alten Mecha-Godzilla Filme, mit denen ich das hier mal vergleiche. Der Film ist voller Action, sehr witziger Side-Kicks, besonders zu erwähnen Charlie Day als Dr. Newton Geiszler und sein Gegenpart, Burn Gorman als Dr. Gottlieb. Guillermo del Torro hat eine Vorliebe für deutsche Namen und Bezeichnungen, so heißen die Mechas ja auch ‘Jaeger’ im Film, was am Anfang auch durch eine Einblendung erklärt wird.Ein klasse Film, voll von Reminiszenzen an alte Godzilla Filme – Einstellung mit der kleinen Mako aus der Seitenstraße heraus auf die Hauptstraße, wo natürlich gleich der ‘ikonische’ Monsterfuß auftauchen wird. Genial gemacht.Die Kämpfe sehr unterhaltsam, weil immer wieder andere Monster auftauchen und diese auch andere, überraschende Fähigkeiten haben, die die Mecha-Piloten immer wieder vor neue Herausforderungen stellen.Bei dem Hauptkampf um Hong Kong dachte ich danach nur, wie will del Toro das noch überbieten, so gut fand ich den. Er überbietet diesen zwar nicht – da war wirklich alles drin was geht – aber der Schlußkampf ist anders und sehr packend inszeniert. Also wirklich gut, weil er sich das Beste nicht bis zum Schluß aufhebt, die Spannung aber trotzdem bleibt.Apropos Spannung. Ich habe mich keine Sekunde gelangweilt und dass, doch bei mehrminütigen Mecha – Kaiju Kämpfen, um in der Terminologie des Films zu bleiben.Dazu kommt noch eine exzellente Blu-Ray mit 20 bis 30 Mbit/s Bilddatenrate und DTS-HD MA 7.1 Ton in DEUTSCH (!!!) – DANKE WARNER! Endlich ist der ‘schlechtere’ Ton mal endlich auf einer in Deutschland verkauften Blu-Ray nur auf Englisch drauf und der deutsche in der besten Qualität die geht. Alleine dafür würde ich schon fast fünf Sterne geben.Das Bild ist etwas bunt von den Farben her aber nicht übertrieben und finde ich für diesen Film durchaus passend. Bild ist insgesamt sehr gut aber keine Referenz. Die Kämpfe finden im Dunkeln statt, es sind aber genug Details zu sehen. CGI ist absolut ohne Tadel.Die normale 2D Blu-Ray ist eine Zwei-Disk Version, auf der einen der Film, auf der anderen die Extras. Leider hat die Disk kein Wende-Cover.Ich kann sehr gut verstehen, dass es Menschen gibt, die damit nichts anfangen können. Für mich als Fan aber ein überaus gelungener Film in dem ich einige Einstellungen aus alten Godzilla Filmen mit Freude wiedererkannt habe.Mir hat der Film sehr gut gefallen und mich von der ersten bis zur letzten Sekunde sehr gut unterhalten.Dafür und für die hervorragende Blu-Ray Qualität mit DTS-HD MA 7.1 volle ***** Sterne.Für alle die Logik und eine irgendwie halbwegs nachvollziehbare Geschichte erwarten, die warne ich vor dem Film. Die Schauspieler haben aber alle ihre Sache sehr gut gemacht – Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi und nicht zuletzt der exzellente Idris Elba und natürlich Ron Perlman – sehr glaubhaft und spielfreudig für diese Art von Film. Das hat nichts, mit doch mit viel geringerem Budget produzierten Godzilla Filmen aus der vor 2000-Ära zu tun. Das ist schon eher wie der Emmerich Godzilla Film und damit auch durchaus – meines Erachtens – von der Produktion her (Hollywood) zu vergleichen.Für Menschen, die sich nicht an Geschichten stören, in denen Godzilla, Rhodan und Ghidora – was ist denn das? – von Außerirdischen kontrolliert werden und die Erde zerstören wollen, sehr zu empfehlen. Alle anderen, sollten um diesen Film einen großen Bogen machen oder ihn einfach erst ausleihen und sich nicht über einen Fehlkauf ärgern…Nachtrag: Extras und Ansehen auf der 2,80 m breiten Leinwand.Ich habe den Film heute nochmal in meinem Heimkino gesehen – 2,80 m breite Alphaluxx Leinwand, Barium 3 HD Tuch, SIM2 D80E Projektor, Oppo BDP-103 Player, Denon AVP-A1HD-SP/K, Audionet AMPV und AMPVII Endstufen und Teufel Theater 8 in 9.2, mit Audyssey Pro eingemessen.Also, einfach beeindruckend. Die Bildqualität verfehlt bei den Live-Szenen mit Schauspielern – also nicht CGI Szenen – ganz knapp Referenzstatus, da doch leider ein paar kleine Unschärfen da sind. Insgesamt aber hervorragend. Die CGI-Szenen sind exzellent aber – wie immer – nicht ganz so scharf. Oftmals kommt aber Wasser vor und das wirkt sehr echt. Alle CGI Szenen wirken sehr, sehr realistisch. Alle Größenverhältnisse stimmen und besonders das Licht ist absolut passend. Kein Wunder bei John Knoll (wer Videoschnittprogramme kennt, kennt die Knoll-Tools), der die Special Effects machte. Steht ILM (Industrial Light and Magic, George Lucas) in nichts nach. Exzellente Arbeit!Der Film wurde mit RED Kameras aufgenommen, die exzellent, gerade auch in dunklen Situationen arbeiten, wie man schon bei ‘Underworld Awakening’ eindrucksvoll sehen konnte – auch mit REDs aufgenommen.Der Ton in 7.1 DTS HD MA ist sehr gut aber 7.1 also die rückwärtigen LS, werden nur spärlich eingesetzt, z.B. wenn der Gipsy Danger Mecha an den Strand kommt und die schweren Fußstapfen aus den Rears kommen, während man den Vater mit dem Jungen am Strand sieht. Nicht so oft sehr prägnant, aber sehr gut und trägt zum Sound-Score sehr gut bei. Bei den Kämpfen natürlich auch aber eher unterschwellig. Ramin Djawadi ist eine fast Hans Zimmer ‘like’ Musik gelungen, mit einem hervorragenden Wiedererkennungswert, zum ‘Mitwippen’.Nicht unerwähnt bleiben sollten auch Travis Beacham für die Story und Guillermo Navarro, der seine eigenen REDs und Obejktive zum Dreh mitgebracht hat – laut IMDB.Die Extras nun, die auf der zweiten Disk drauf sind: Das Tagebuch des Regisseurs, Behind the scenes: Drift space, Behind the scenes: The digital artistry of Pacific Rim, Behind the scenes: Shatterdome, Entfernte Szenen und Blooper Reel.Guillermo del Toro schreibt in seinem Tagbuch des Regisseurs: It is my poem to the giant monsters movie I loved as a child.Das bedeutet: Es ist mein Gedicht, meine Huldigung, an die Riesenmonsterfilme, die ich als Kind geliebt habe.Das ist es absolut und ich fühle mich da sehr aufgehoben und möchte Guillermo del Toro DANKE sagen, denn das ist genau das, was es auch für mich ist.Dies ist kein Film für die breite Masse sondern für Fans, die die alten Godzilla Filme lieben, wie Guillermo des Toro selbst schreibt und neue Fans von Animes und Mangas von Mechas und Kaiju.All denen hat Guillermo del Toro einen Riesen Gefallen getan.Oder wie meine vierzehnjährige, halb-japanische Tochter sagte: Das ist aber ein sehr japanischer Film…

Review: 映画なんで、音も光浴びれれば良いんですよ、その中でどれだけハートを動かせるかこの映画は老若男女誰の心も高める作品です。最初は怪獣ロボットムービーと馬鹿にしていても最後には拳を握ってみてしまう、過去最高の作品余談ですが、この監督続編作らずに、別作品作ってアカデミー賞取っちゃってます（笑）

Review: Il film è tutto un omaggio alla cinematografia giapponese, e narra una storia originale, divertente e assolutamente non impegnativa; l’ideale per una serata tra amici.Il richiamo al Giappone parte dai vecchi film di Godzilla, con mostri giganti che devastano le città, a cui sono stati aggiunti dei giganteschi robot, che strizzano l’occhio ai famosi cartoni animati di Mazinga e Goldrake.Una menzione particolare va fatta al comparto tecnico: audio e video sono di altissimo livello, e finora non ho mai visto un 3D così ben fatto e privo dei soliti difetti (immagini sfocate, sequenze confuse, colori sbiaditi). A mio avviso è perfino meglio di Avatar, che rispetto a questo film vanta un girato in 3D nativo: un gran lavoro di post-produzione, quindi!Consigliatissimo.Ciau,Wolf

Review: La versión BluRay de Pacific Rim ya era espectacular, con esta edición 4K la película roza su perfección.HDR10 elevado a su máxima expresión, y audio Dolby Atmos (en la versión en inglés).Para mí, la película más redonda de Guillermo del Toro (me da la sensación de que el mismísimo Spielberg sintió envidia al verla). Lo tiene todo: gran guión, grandes actuaciones de los actores y mucha química entre los personajes, fotografía de 1ª, infografía 3D que resiste el paso del tiempo, y una banda sonora memorable que acompaña a la perfección a la película…Imprescindible, es una película para los fans de Mazinger Z, para los fans de los Kaijus, y para cualquier cinéfilo en general.
