Title: Une comédie originale
Review: Cette comédie menée magistralement pas un extraordinaire Ricky Gervais m’a vraiment beaucoup plu. Le film a un peu fait le fantôme dans nos salles tellement qu’il n’a pas trop bien marché… Rattrapez-vous en le voyant en dvd, ce film vaut vraiment la peine que vous le voyiez.L’idée est originale. Cet homme subit une opération et à la suite de celle-ci il voit des choses étranges, comme quelqu’un qui veut lui parler dans la rue, traverse et une voiture lui passe à travers le corps… Il a alors l’impression d’halluciner et en retournant à l’hôpital il découvre qu’il est mort pendant 7 minutes mais qu’il est miraculeusement revenu à la vie.Les fantômes ont alors à leur portée quelqu’un qui peut communiquer avec les vivants, et donc le harcèlent sans arrêt. Ce qui donne lieu à des scènes vraiment drôles que Ricky Gervais rend encore plus « vivantes » !Si vous avez aimé Fantômes contre Fantômes, vous aimerez sans doute celui-ci aussi, et sinon, essayez quand même !

Review: Une bonne comédie US, très agréable avec Ricky Gervais toujours brillant et plein de finesse, la sublime Téa Léoni, qui décidément excelle dans tous les registres, avec une mention spéciale dans les comédies et le charisme irrésistible de Greg Kinnear, doué même quand il joue les sales types en rédemption.

Review: Un petit film à l’air sans prétention et qui se révèle incroyablement bien écrit, bien réalisé, bien joué. Une comédie ciselée à la perfection qui est malheureusement passée inaperçue en salle.Bref… je le recommande!

Review: The opening scene we see Frank (Greg Kinnear) walking along being questioned by his wife, Gwen, (played by Téa Leoni – the beautiful (ex)wife of David Duchovny) about an apartment – that he has actually started looking at for his mistress. Just as the smooth talker Frank reassures Gwen that it was for them, he meets an untimely end; staying in the outfit he died in.Meanwhile, we meet Bertram Pincus (played by Ricky Gervais) who works as a dentist who is constantly tired of listening to people and is disinterested in his work colleagues – he even sneaks out of the office whilst Dr. Prashar and the other staff meet to celebrate the birth of his new baby.So Bertram dislikes people and we even see him not hold the elevator for a lady who lives in his building when she is struggling with an enormous box. Up he goes to his bachelor pad to prepare for an operation.It is during this operation that he dies – for 7 minutes – and this gives him the ability to hear the dead. Of course, all these ghosts are desperate to put things right with their loved ones and they all chase after him. This is Bertram’s worst nightmare. One of the ghosts, Frank, makes him a deal – look after Gwen and save him from marrying her new partner (who Frank dislikes) and he will keep the other ghosts away.So begins an odd courtship. It is hilarious – especially the part when he’s in her apartment and meets her ‘puppy’ – a Great Dane – which was going to be put down until Gwen rescued him. And you, as the viewer, seem to fall in love with this odd dentist as well. So it comes as a shock when things don’t go to plan and Bertram realises that the only way for him to get Gwen is to change: to help these ghosts with their problems. That way, they can ‘find their way home.’It’s only when Bertram dies (again) himself, that Frank sees that Gwen has fallen for Bertram, that he is released. So everyone has been changed by the experience….A sweet love story. I wanted to watch it over and over again. And each time I watch it, I realised how clever the narrative is. Bertram is often having a three way dialogue. Parts of the story, we see Ricky Gervais, and he is HILARIOUS.

Review: A feel good movie. It does have ghosts but by no means scary. Ricky Gervais is a dentist who « sees dead people. » 😊 Rick Gervais is marvellous. These ghosts have unfinished business to fulfill before they cross over. Rick Gervais is the man the ghosts seek out to assist them. The movie is quite fun, full of humor, with beautiful picturesque New York in the foreground. Plus, romance, which is blooming but is a gradual love. Beautiful ending.
