Title: un petit bijou…
Review: S’il y a un dvd à avoir ds sa dvdthèque, ce serait celui-là, je l’offre en série aux anniversaires des gens que j’aime, c’est du même humour que little miss sunshine que j’ai adoré aussi, si vous avez le cafard un soir payez vous ce dvd, vous ne le regretterai pas…

Title: Mouais…
Review: Pas le meilleur film des frères Coen. Ça part à 100 à l’heure, avec une première scène très drôle, mais par la suite, ça reste sympa, mais sans plus. Les acteurs sont très bons et très beaux, mais cela n’est pas suffisant. Un film à voir une fois.

Title: Un humour fin
Review: Dès le début du film, les dialogues succulents, gorgés d’un humour fin nous poussent fréquement au rire. Mais ce qui arrive souvent dans beaucoup de films, c’est que le rythme s’estompe au fur et à mesure que le métrage avance. Dans ce film il n’en est rien, le même humour, la meme gestuelle attend le specateur à chaque angle de séquence. A voir !

Review: Très agréable à regarder. Ce film dit tout haut ce qui se passe malheureusement souvent tout bas. Parfois un peu kitsch, un manque de rythme, de belles pointes d’humour gentil. . Un film a regarder sans avoir peur de devoir trop réfléchir.

So states Marylin Rexroth (Catherine Zeta Jones) at a dinner date with the opposing Attorney Miles Massey(George Clooney) representing the defendant- husband Rex (Edward Harman). The love at first sight chemistry is already working in this hillarious and glamorous glossy production by Brian Grezer with direction and screen play by Joel and Ethan Cohen.It is a deliberate take-on, set in 1998, of the beautiful and classy women who marry rich men; wait for their inevitable infidelities, and then claim half or as much of their assets as they can, as many times as they can. Often ending up in a 46 room Mansion alone with a peptic ulcer like Marylin’s friend Sarah Sarkin (Julia Duffy). George Clooney dressed suavely in suits copied from Cary Grant, imparts the full impartial mechanics of the system as Miles, a partner in Massey, Mayerson, Sloan, Guralnick; controlled by senior partner Herb, attached to life support systems at his gloomy desk. Miles and his faithful Side-kick Wrigley (Paul Adelstein) help Male or Female parties alike to fabricate cases where money is the only consideration. This is the time when signing a Pre-nuptual agreement becomes the norm.Catherine Zeta Jones looking super-stunning was in heaven at the choice of costumes designed to be contemporary, but recalling old Hollywood as well. As Marylin she is thwarted by Miles and co, and so weaves a web of deceit with the help of Donovan (Geoffrey Rush) a TV Producer, likewise thwarted, and Howard D Doyle (Billy Bob Thornton) a soap actor posing as a Texan Oil Millionaire. She manipulates their chemistry and manages to ensnare Miles into a wedding at a Scottish Chapel in Las Vegas, and leaves him next day with a torn up Pre-nup. As the more wealthy party he is ‘a sitting duck’. Previous husband Rex dies whilst jumping on a bed with a bevy of beauties without changing his will, so Marylin is doubly rich. In the meantime Miles and Wrigley have hired a hit man ‘Wheezy’ Joe (Irwin Keyes), whose demise is the scene of more hillarity, as they try to call him off.Marylin with her Attorney Freddy Bender (Richard Jenkins) finally meets Miles again on the opposite side of the board room desk where the Flame of Love is rekindled, but Freddy makes off with the new partially torn Pre-nup, just in case—-Double dealing Private Eye Gus (Cedric the Entertainer) becomes compare in a show put on by Donovan–Love.Honour.Obey.– with his Catch Phrase ‘We Are Gonna Nail Your Ass’. This has got to be the true title of the film.
