Review: j’ai bien aimé ce film, très joliment filmé et mené, même si je préfère le livre que j’avais lu et relu quand j’étais adolescente; l’un des personnages surtout est bien plus sympathique dans le livre! Sinon les acteurs sont très bien choisis et sont une bonne interprétation des dessins qui illustraient le livre (édition sélection du Reader’s digest 1960)

Review: I saw this movie while I was very sick in hospital waiting for an organ transplant. I remember how hopeful the character Mrs. Harris dreams of owning a couture gown while mine was getting a new organ as mine was failing. So I really love this movie which gave me much comfort when I was alone most of the time in hospital.

Review: I’ve watched this a few times now, and bought it for my mum as it’s based in late 1950’s London/Paris. Romanticised and quaint in effect and narrative, it’s a real fashionista feast for the eyes as it revolves around Paris Haute Couture {Dior} and a lowly cleaning lady from London and her dream of owning a Dior gown. A bit of fantasy and the ridiculous but so heart warming that’s it’s a real panacea to all the violent and horror film stuff so prevalent. In the vein of post war British Pinewood studio it’s a gem and my mum loved it…I think mainly because the gorgeous Jason Issac plays the ‘romantic’ lead. Snuggle up on the sofa with good cup of ‘Rosie Lee’ and enjoy.
