Title: Une saga, une légende, un mythe
Review: Réalisé par Justin LIN en 2016, STAR TREK fête ses 50 ans et s’embellit encore avec une autre aventure, mené de main de maitre, outre par le réalisateur nommé plus tôt, mais également par toute une équipe d’acteurs qui a relevé haut la main, la poursuite d’une quête inventée en 1966 par son génial créateur, M. Gene RODDENBERRY.L’univers de STAR TREK n’a jamais cessé de se bonifier avec le temps qui passe, parti de la série originale Star Trek Classic, rebaptisée ainsi pour la distinguer de ses grandes sœurs qui suivront, il y aura ensuite Star Trek The Next Generation, Star Trek Deep Space Nine et Star Trek Voyager qui dureront chacune 7 ans ainsi que la petite dernière Star Trek Enterprise qui durera 4 ans.Toutes ces séries excellentes au demeurant, n’auront de cesse d’ajouter des personnages et des thèmes qui viendront revigorer et amplifier le mythe qu’est devenu Star Trek au fil du temps, tandis que les 3 premières séries viendront s’inscrire directement dans la lignée temporelle de la série originale, cette dernière se passant au 23ème siècle, les autres se dérouleront au 24ème siècle, à l’exception d’Enterprise, celle-ci apparaissant comme une préquelle à la série initiale, se passant au 22ème siècle, avant même la création de la Fédération. Ensuite, cela reste une histoire de goût afin d’apprécier plus une série par rapport à une autre, personnellement, ma série préférée reste Star Trek Deep Space Nine, avec ses personnages attachants, ses histoires plus sombres et complexes, l’action se passant sur une base spatiale, ils sont confrontés à diverses races extra-terrestres, ce qui amènera plusieurs changements profonds, qui prendront tous leurs sens à la fin de la série.Au cinéma, il y a également les 6 films tenus par les acteurs de la série classique, que viendront compléter les 4 portés par les acteurs de la série Star Trek The Next Generation. En 2009, viendra enfin le reboot initié par J.J. ABRAMS, où figureront deux films, qui précédent celui dont on parle ici.Autant j’ai adoré tout ce qui s’est passé dans la ligne temporelle précédente, autant je continue à apprécier ce qui s’est fait lors du reboot. Afin d’avoir les mains plus libres, il a été créé une nouvelle ligne temporelle, afin de revenir aux origines et aux aventures de l’équipage originel, ce qui a été très bien construit, sur de bases solides et très claires, l’important étant de ne pas perdre les nouveaux spectateurs, tout comme les anciens fans, connaisseurs de la saga, et c’est très réussi.Le film réussit à faire participer tous les membres de l’équipage de façon quasi équitable à l’aventure, l’intrigue est très bonne, on retrouve l’esprit Star Trek magnifié.Le rythme est rapide, il y a de l’action, de l’humour bienvenu quand il le faut et de nouveaux personnages qui viennent compléter merveilleusement les anciens auxquels on est habitué.Il y a certaines scènes qui sont très spectaculaires, notamment la destruction du vaisseau USS Enterprise. L’identité du méchant prend racine dans le passé de la Fédération, ce qui apporte une perspective très intéressante, sur l’essor de la Fédération des Planètes Unies dans l’histoire. Enfin, il y a une scène qui rend hommage à l’équipage originel de la série créée en 1966, et par là-même qui rend hommage au regretté Léonard NIMOY, interprète du mythique Spock et décédé en 2015.Le film lui est dédié ainsi qu’à Anton YELCHIN, qui interprétait le rôle de Pavel Chekov dans le reboot et décédé en 2016. La production a ensuite déclaré que le rôle ne serait pas repris par un autre acteur.Tous les acteurs tiennent parfaitement leur rôle, que ce soient les têtes d’affiche comme Chris PINE ou Zachary QUINTO, Simon PEGG ou John CHO dans les rôles secondaires, ou les nouveaux venus comme Idris ELBA qui interprète le méchant ou Sophia BOUTELLA dans le rôle de Jayla, une extra-terrestre qui viendra aider notre équipage préféré.Côté blu ray, ma critique porte sur l’édition STEELBOOK exclusif Amazon. Ce boitier est tout simplement magnifique niveau visuel, le titre est inscrit en anglais STAR TREK BEYOND, on y voit Kirk, Jayla et Spock, ornés d’une couleur qui leur est propre, simple et limpide, mais tellement beau.L’image est tout simplement sublime, magnifié par le rendu HD, tout est très bien mis en valeur, du très grand spectacle à tous les niveaux, les couleurs, les contrastes ou encore les effets spéciaux sont époustouflants de réalisme.Le son s’en sort lui aussi superbement bien, exploitant parfaitement toutes les ressources de la HD, les dialogues sont très bien rendus, la VF est très bonne quant à sa qualité, mais je garde une préférence pour la VOST qui est ici explosive et permet de profiter encore plus du film, mais chacun décidera selon ses goûts propres, la version qui lui convient le mieux.A noter la musique de la bande originale créée par Michael GIACHINNO, à laquelle vient s’ajouter de la musique hip-hop, inhabituelle dans la saga, mais venant prendre part à l’intrigue, ainsi qu’une chanson originale de la chanteuse RIHANNA, Sledgehammer.STAR TREK confirme avec ce film, son statut de pilier de la SF.Vivement le prochain, puisqu’un 4ème film est déjà en cours de préparation.

Title: troisième aventure plutôt réussie pour l’équipage de l’enterprise
Review: au risque de courroucer certains, je ne donne pas d’avis sur l’aspect technique du blu-ray, il y a des magazines spécialisés qui le font très bien. je me contente de l’oeuvre couchée sur ce support: ce troisième volet du reboot star trek reprend les mêmes personnages auxquels nous nous sommes attaché (quinto est parfait dans le rôle de spock!) pour une aventure qui nous fait passer un agréable moment de cinéma. cette fois, pas de recyclage façon remake comme pour le précédent long métrage, mais un scénario inédit. il est amusant de voir les personnages dans leurs incarnations les plus modernes se démener avec un vaisseau quasi préhistorique et démontrer que les légendes et le contenu des livres d’histoire peuvent être loin de la vérité. c’est la principale morale du film qui s’éloigne de l’état d’esprit de la série et des films originaux pour plus de spectacle et moins de réflexion. au final, un bon film, ce n’est déjà pas si mal.

The banter between Bones [Karl Urban] and a delirious Spock [Zachary Quinto] is particularly enjoyable.The storyline of ‘STAR TREK BEYOND 3D’ is extremely solid and very well maintained throughout. The Sci-Fi film has its high points and its low points like every other film does, however you can definitely tell that the crew had a lot of fun making this film. From the very well placed humour among the cast, to the overall acting capabilities of the cast and them conveying their characters as if it were meant to be.Another thing that is well worth mentioning is the totally awesome film music score by the brilliant composer Michael Giacchino. Never in my life did I imagine that a STAR TREK film would include some of the songs that were included with this one. Now, this isn’t a bad thing by any means, it was just surprising to see that a Beastie Boys song was used in STAR TREK, now that must be a first. To sum things up, get ready for some interesting side adventures, snappy dialogues, brilliant CGI, an entertaining music film score and also a relationship angle, for good measure. The kind of blend that is definitely a signature J.J. Abrams [co-producer]. Then there’s the enemy leader Krall [Idris Elba] who is bad to the bone no doubt, but without being over-the-top and this STAR TREK Sci-Fi franchise is a really enjoyable space opera romp, where no man has gone before.This film is understandably dedicated to the memory of Anton Yelchin, who unfortunately passed away a month prior to the film’s release, as well as fellow actor Leonard Nimoy who passed away during pre-production. The awesome sets and costume details are very strong, with the bright wonderful colours of the uniforms, the bright greens of the planet vegetation and especially the different colour rock formations and rocky surfaces, all proving to be totally excellent. Skin tones are also natural looking and while the sequence on the crashed saucer section of the U.S.S. Enterprise appears quite dark at times, it does resemble how the sequence looked when I saw it in the cinema in 3D and so, given the unstable and low-lit nature of the scene, it appears accurate in appearance.3D Blu-ray Audio Quality – Paramount Pictures have once again given us this Blu-ray ‘STAR TREK BEYOND 3D’ in an incredibly strong audio experience, especially with the DOLBY ATMOS [7.1 Dolby TrueHD Compatible] and is truly spectacular. This space opera action film has a number of well-staged action sequences and it is perhaps unsurprising that the audio would deliver with active surround effects, deeply felt bass and crisp front and especially the centre audio speaker. The U.S.S. One interesting revelation here is they talk about that scene where we see Sulu as gay and screenwriter Doug Jung plays his husband greet each other, as they feel that in their century there are no barriers when it comes to sexual orientation. Unfortunately, some of the people talking to the camera, the sound is out of sync. Contributors include J.J. Many of the masks that are only glimpsed briefly in the film and are enormously elaborate and you can see and realise why these STAR TREK films cost massive amounts of money, especially having to produce multiple amounts of the same prosthetic face masks. It also demonstrates the reboot series by showing a side-by-side comparison of the ending of ‘Wrath of Khan’ as well as the scene in ‘Into Darkness’ STAR TREK films. Abrams [Producer, p.g.a.], Justin Lin [Director], Karl Urban [Bones], John Cho [Sulu], Zachary Quinto [Spock] and Simon Pegg [Scotty/Co-Writer].Special Feature: Gag Reel [2016] [1080p] [1.78:1] [5:13] This is a typical look at reels of flubs, crack ups, etc., and it is interesting in seeing behind the veneer of the well-executed takes that does not make it into the polished final film version. But overall I felt some of the clips we see are sometimes very silly and also totally pointless.Finally, ‘STAR TREK BEYOND 3D’ is totally wonderful and full of energy. Unfortunately I cannot at this moment in time enjoy the DOLBY ATMOS with my set up, but the 7.1 Dolby TrueHD Compatible is still truly amazing audio experience and especially having the ability to hear the elevated audio portions of the various scenes allowed for an all-out immersive audio experience. With all of that, you the audience is going to experience a totally out of this world experience. The films story line was rock solid and has me looking forward to the eventual and hopefully next STAR TREK franchise film in the series and curious to see where the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise will end up on their fourth year of their journey to where no one has gone before. I really enjoyed watching ‘STAR TREK BEYOND 3D,’ which I watched it twice in one day and that is how brilliant this Sci-Fi film is. Highly Recommended!Andrew C.
