Title: drôle et ironique
Review: une parodie réussie des films si « cucu » de notre enfance, Philibert joue à la perfection …avec la niaiserie du puceau…style Jean Marais ou du séducteur Gérard Philippe…les scénes de cape et d’épée si invraisemblables comme à cette époque…drôle. un humour au 3ème degré, une parodie réussie. à déguster en famille.mais il faut un minimum de culture cinématographique pour faire le lien et en rire tout au long.ce film sera dans ma vidéothèque…au même titre qu’un comique du splendid, à voir et revoir pour les subtilités … une finesse cependant qui ne sera pas à la portée des non initiés…

Title: La cape et l’epee.
Review: La facture technique du film et du blu ray est excellente.Le film en lui même ne plaira pas à tout le monde mais si jean marais vous fait rire dans « le capitan » ou « le bossu » alors celui ci est fait pour vous car la parodie est extremement drôle, les acteurs s’amusent et nous aussi.

Title: pastiche de bande dessinée
Review: L’intérêt de ce film tient surtout à son esthétique qui reprend celle de la « ligne claire », chère aux bandes dessinées d’une certaine époque dont le film parodie l’esprit avec plus ou moins de bonheur, plutôt moins que plus d’ailleurs. PHILIBERT n’est pas une parodie des films de cape et d’épée des années 50 dont l’esprit est surtout à la fraîcheur, à la galanterie, aux allusions osées (pour l’époque), soit tout le contraire du gentil puceau coincé qu’est Philibert. Certains épisodes du film sont assez drôles, d’autres beaucoup moins réussies, mais comme OSS 117 le film vaut surtout pour son aspect visuel.

Review: Philibert, a robust lad and eldest son of an artichoke farmer, stands out from the other boys in the village – he loves to dance. Idealistic and ingenuous, he foresees for himself a glorious future in artichokes and is saving his virginity for an as-yet-unknown woman chosen for him by God. Before his father dies (at the beginning of the film), he tells Philibert that he isn’t his real parent – and that’s when the real adventure begins! ‘Philibert’ reminded me of some of the swashbuckling movies that kids of the 40s and 50s thrilled to at the weekly Saturday matinees at the flicks – but this movie is a lot more sexy – something that you would not have seen during those informative years of reaching puberty! It was a throwback of sorts to the likes of Burt Lancaster in the matinee movie, ‘The Crimson Pirate’ and Stewart Granger’s ‘Scaramouche’ and the swordfight scene on the castle stairs in Errol Flynn’s 1938, ‘The Adventures of Robin Hood.’This is a rollicking 100 minutes of good fun with Jeremie Renier cavorting in various colored hip-hugging tights (each color is for a specific occasion) as he gallops towards Burgundy to avenge his bloodline, with a sword in his hand and a side-kick, Martin (Manu Payet), his rather deceitful, yet loveable and humorous man-servant. Philibert’s courage, kindness, physical and moral purity will thus be severely tested. And it is!! The ‘Ben Hur’ style galley slaves sequence is very funny too!Being a 2011 French production filmed in Prague, the picture quality cannot be faulted – anamorphically sharp (16:9) with an almost 3D look- and a glorious color palette rarely seen in most costumed movies of today. Beautifully directed by Sylvain Fusee, the sound is directional, which adds much excitement to the fight scenes to-the-death in the castle. The dialogue is French with easy-to-read English subtitles. The DVD also contains ‘The Making of Philibert’ which has only a French soundtrack with no subtitles, but I found it an added bonus to see behind the scenes, with cameras, lights, and the blocking and rehearsals for some of the very funny fight scenes in the barn that opens the actual movie and later in the footsteps of Erroll Flynn’s ‘Robin Hood.’ It’s easy to follow without English audio narrative. There is also an ‘alternative ending’ in the added extras that is a real laugh and not what you would expect Philibert to do!Jeremie Renier has been voted one of the Top 10 European actors of today, and his work in ‘Philibert’ is as good as his ‘Clo Clo’ (re-titled as ‘My Way’ in the USA) – the story of the famous French singer Claude Francois – ‘The Vitner’s Luck’ (a great human drama re-titled in the USA as ‘ A Heavenly Vintage’) – ‘Potiche’ – ‘Criminal Lovers’ – ‘Brotherhood of the Wolf’ and ‘A Love to Hide.’ ‘Philibert’ is a great 100 minutes of tongue-in-cheek adventure. I can highly recommend ‘The Adventures of Philibert’ (but as someone who has worked in the film industry for 50+ years, it’s only my opinion).

Review: Ich denke, um an “Ein Musketier für alle Fälle“ Spaß zu haben, muss man sich die Machart von uralten Abenteuerfilmen mit Douglas Fairbanks zu Gemüte führen. Denn an diesen Filmen orientiert sich diese Parodie sowohl inhaltlich als auch visuell. Die Konzeption der Örtlichkeiten, ihre Ausleuchtung und die begrenzte Tiefenschärfe der Kamera lässt erkennen, dass man auf diese alten Filme anspielt (welcher jugendliche Zuschauer von heute kann das allerdings erkennen?). Der Held des Film könnte Fritz Lang’s “Nibelungen“ entsprungen sein. Wenn man in der richtigen “Kicher-Stimmung“ ist, kann man sich über all die übertriebenen Details, die schwülstige Sprache und seltsamen Einfälle (“Steißbraten“!!) schier krank lachen. Die Fechtszenen sind gut gelungen – der finale Showdown erinnerte mich durch den langgezogenen Kampf auf Treppen doch irgendwie an die letzte Fechtszene aus “Ivanhoe, der schwarze Ritter“ mit Robert Taylor oder eine der ganz frühen Robin Hood Verfilmungen. Sicher, es wäre bei der Komik bestimmt noch mehr drin gewesen. Trotzdem hat mich der Film als Parodie wirklich gut unterhalten. Ich sah den Film gestreamt bei PRIME.Nachtrag vom 31.10.2015: Da ich den Film für sehr witzig hielt, er bei PRIME verschwunden war, ich ihn noch einmal sehen wollte und spottbillig angeboten fand, habe ich jetzt doch noch die DVD gekauft. Der Film ist in einer erstaunlich guten Video-Qualität auf der Silberscheibe. Die verfügbaren Sprachen sind Deutsch und Französisch.

Review: Eine nette Parodie auf die vielen anderen Musketier Spielfilme. Ganz nach Art des Spielfilms « Helden in Strumpfhosen » .Ganz gut erzählt. Aber eben komödiantisch und nicht eine reale Form. Alleine schon was eben die Kleidung angeht. Er ist es aber wert angeschaut zu werden.
