Title: Un classique du genre

Review: Anchorman, méconnu en France, est pourtant une épure de la comédie déjantée à l’américaine dont les Appatow Boys sont les chantres.mention spéciale naturellement à Will Ferrell mais, en tant que fan de Paul Rudd et Steve Carell (même si celui a un rôle ingrat, voire répétitif). Un autre acteur est impressionnant, il s’agit de David KOECHNER qui vient compléter la bande des quatre idiots à la tête de l’info de la chaîne de San Diago. Will Ferrell, mâtiné de Christian Morin pour les prouesses musicales est parfait dans son rôle de benêt magnifique, est absolument génial dans sa munificence et dans sa déchéance.Bientôt les commentaires pour ANCHORMAN 2 qui va plus loin dans les caméos…

Title: I love Ron Burgundy…
Review: This is the best version of Anchorman. First of all it contains two versions of the movie. It is always nice to see both versions and to see the differences. Next to the main movie it also includes « wake up Ron Burgundy ». This actually movie built on footage that was not used. Build up is not that good, but it is fun to watch. On top there are a lot of extras. Definitely a bluray that should be added to your collection.

Review: Will Ferrell au top de sa forme, bien que ce ne soit pas son meilleur film selon moi. Pour ce qui est du blu-ray, la VF est bien là (Parisienne, pas la version québecoise heureusement !) et l’image est d’une qualité très satisfaisante. Bonne pioche !

Title: Une comédie désopilante !
Review: Vous voulez rire de bon cœur ? La Légende de Ron Burgundy est pour vous !Réalisé par Adam McKay (également aux commandes de Very Bad Cops et Ricky Bobby), le film prend place au cœur des années 70, lorsque le présentateur TV régional était une star et ses mots considérés comme paroles d’évangiles. Will Ferrell, vedette de la chaine Channel 4 de San Diego, et épaulé par trois énergumènes respectivement en charge des catégories sports, météo et émissions « chocs », voit d’un mauvais œil l’arrivée dans son petit univers de Veronica Corningstone, femme aux dents longues briguant la place de présentateur principal.Épinglant les mentalités machistes de l’époque et montrant férocement le contexte d’émancipation professionnel des femmes des années 70, le film est avant tout une comédie jubilatoire menée avec une bonne humeur des plus communicatives. Des répliques lamentables de personnages tous plus stupides les uns que les autres aux panoplies vestimentaires seventies jusqu’au bout des lacets, en passant par un humour circonstanciel toujours placé opportunément et un casting cinq étoiles (Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Fred Willard, Seth Rogen, Danny Trejo, Luke Wilson, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jack Black et Tim Robbins !), Anchorman (de son titre original) est une véritable réussite humoristique qui ne peut laisser de marbre et devant laquelle on ne s’empêcher d’éclater (souvent !) de rire !Pour tout amateur de comédies façon Frat Pack (mais pas que), cette pépite est assurément à découvrir !

Review: Un petit bijou dans la carrière pléthorique de Lord Ferrell! On sent l’effort d’écriture du scénario, de la mise en scène, des costumes et de l’ambiance seventies bien décalée.Des gags alignés comme des perles par les acteurs membres du Fraternity Pack vous feront passer de sacrés moment de rigolade comme ma compagne et moi!A priori la version DVD ici proposée semble avoir été amputée d’au moins une scène disponible sur youtube: le coming out de Champ qui déclare sa flamme à Ron Burgundy dans la voiture .Ron Burgundy ça donne René Bourgogne en français: trop kitsch!!!

Review: Prefiero esta edición mil veces al blu ray con castellano, que trae 1 versión de la peli y 0 extras. Aquí tenemos en la edición Uk 2 discos con numerosos extras y 3 versiones de la película, subt. en español latino (a mi no me ha molestado en absoluto) las tres, así como los extras. Decir que verla en VO es imprescindible, porque Will Ferrell hace su mejor papel, y la peli es ya de culto.

Review: Re-watching this film is a far funnier experience for me, since the first time around, at the beginning of the heyday of this kind of movie, I didn’t quite ‘get it’. Now, after having adjusted to the quirky nature of the ‘Pineapple Express’ and ‘Zack and Miri Make A Porno’ new generation of comedy which is all about bizarre characters pushing the taste boundaries with bizarre and funny behaviour and dialogue, I finally get it, and so viewing 2 was hilarious. Ron Burgundy is a terrific creation into which Ferrell pours his heart and soul, giving a performance of tremendous effort and humour. All of the cast work similarly hard, but Ferrell’s scotch loving, dog infatuated chauvinist is a fully rounded walking creation, as sweetly befuddled and charming as he is monstrously egotistical and childish. Great laughs are wrung from the vastly inappropriate behaviour of him and his peers in the male dominated ‘playground’ of the ’70s newsroom.A sense of unreality pervades the whole film, with Newsreader Gang-on-gang violence a daily event, and Fred Willard’s studio head trying to cope with a son who seems to be trying to go postal on half of San-Francisco in an amusing off-screen running joke.Paul Rudd is very funny and the butt of one fantastic aftershave gag, and Steve Carrell is great as the man-child weatherman who blindly follows everyone else due to an almost brain-dead but sweet lack of IQ.But this is Ferrell and Christina Applegate’s film, and she gives an amazingly sassy performance as a newswoman fighting to be a national station ‘anchor’, and giving as good as she gets in many astoundingly barbed comedy lines and even a few crazy punch-up scenes. Much of the dialogue goes WAY beyond what you’re expecting its boundaries to be in an attempt to shock, and many of the laughs come from the leads saying things that are so far over the boundary of unacceptable that you gape somewhere inbetween laughing and astonishment, but luckily it’s all framed within a scenario of such absurdity that it’s clear it’s not meant to be taken seriously or offensively, since nothing else is meant to be taken seriously either.The plot is also unexpectedly sweet at times, and you can’t help rooting for even the villains of the piece. It’s a great effort in screenwriting, which is funny, endearing, ludicrous, fantastical in the most bizarre way, and heart-warming. »You stay classy, San Francisco. » « And thanks for dropping by. »

Review: An absolute cult classic, one that fits right into any collection. As it’s been said, this is a marmite movie. Some will like it, others won’t. I for one love this movie, having recently made a purchase.Set in San Francisco, Will Ferrel stars as Ron Burgundy, the quirky lead anchor at Channel 6 News. Forming the rest of the team is Brick Tamzin (personally, his lines and moments are cult classics on their own) Champ Kind and Bryan Fantana. Ron falls for a woman at an office party, whom rejects his so called « advances ». She’s appointed journalist at the newsroom, which brings in even more brilliant one-liners, pick-up attempts, breakdowns. All of which will leave a permanent mark on the brain.If you’ve seen this already, you’ll know how brilliant the fight scene is. If not, by all means please watch.Overall, this is (as it’s been said) a marmite movie. You’ll either love the likes of Ron Burgundy, or hate them. Recommended as a true pick-up of the mood.

Review: I originally bought this on DVD many years ago when it first came out and just loved it, so when it came to Blu-Ray it was a must buy for me. Will Ferrell is on top form like always in possibly is finest role ever. The Blu-Ray comes as the « Rich mahogany » Edition which is amazing because you get a full length (around 90 minutes) lost movie called ‘wake up Ron Burgundy’ as a special feature in this 2 disc Blu-Ray set.
