Title: Love it! 🙂
Review: Having seen this moving a few times already, I thought I might as well buy it ;)It’s a « girly film », as some call them – a romantic comedy, teenager movie, but I’m 30 & still enjoy this stuff ;p mostly ‘cos it’s about snowboarding, life on a ski resort, etc.The soundtrack’s fun & the cast is pretty good.Light, fun watching of an evening, basically :)Ayant regardé ce film à plusieurs reprises, je me suis dit – autant l’acheter! ;)C’est un film « de fille », comme certains disent – une comédie romantique. Mais moi qui ai plus de 30 ans, j’aime tjrs ça ;p surtout parce qu’ils font du snow et sont en montagne!La BO est fun et les acteurs sont bons.Un film amusant et léger quoi 🙂

Review: Soyons honnête, la seule et unique raison pour cet achat était la présence d’Ed Westwick. Les bandes-annonces me laissaient craindre le pire mais finalement, le film était assez distrayant malgré un scénario de comédie romantique des plus prévisibles: mise en scène dynamique, paysages alpins très jolis et acteurs tout à fait crédibles. En bonus, vision apocalyptique du torse d’Ed Westwick, jamais vu en 5 ans de Gossip Girl.

Title: Cendrillon en moon boots
Review: « Chalet Girl » est une sympathique comédie romantique et légère, variation moderne et hivernale sur le thème de Cendrillon.Kim (Felicity Jones), est une jeune championne de skateboard qui a perdu sa mère dans un accident de voiture. Elle a depuis arrêté toute activité sportive et travaille dans un fast food de Londres tout en passant sa vie à s’occuper de son père. Elle obtient presque par hasard un emploi de « Chalet Girl » en Autriche : c’est-à-dire employée de maison dans la demeure de vacances d’une très riche famille anglaise. Au départ souffre-douleur de Georgie (Tamsin Egerton), la responsable du chalet, Kim fait ses armes lors de la venue du riche et beau Jonny (Ed Edwsick), de sa fiancée Chloe (Sophia Bush) et ses parents (Billy Nighy et Brooke Shields). Entre la petite serveuse et le riche homme d’affaire, une certaine complicité semble s’établir. Kim se met par ailleurs au snowboard pendant son temps libre, pour tenter sa chance dans une compétition de fin de saison.Sans prétention, cette gentille comédie n’est pas pour autant dénuée d’intérêts. Le film est drôle et à regarder avec beaucoup de second degré. Felicity Jones tient particulièrement son rôle, associant charme et caractère, et Ed Edwsick fait un parfait prince charmant. Billy Nighy nous offre de son côté encore un très bon numéro d’acteur. Les paysages sublimes de St Anton et Garmisch-Partenkirchen servent d’écrin à une histoire dont l’épilogue ne fait pas vraiment de doute. Sans surprise mais très bien fait « Chalet Girl » est au final un film amusant à regarder au coin du feu.Attention, le DVD ne propose ni version française ni sous titres en français.

Review: I really enjoyed this film! It has been a while since I have enjoyed a predictable romcom so much, but Chalet Girl gets it spot on! Felicity Jones is a delight- as an English girl myself, I remember her from the Worst Witch- so it’s lovely to see her all grown up, and demonstrating that she has some serious acting chops! I shall definitely watch her from now on, so look forward to watching her in the upcoming (alternative?) romcom, Like Crazy. The standout moment for her was the hot tub bit-was laughing my head off the first time I saw it and still funny in subsequent viewings. Ed Westwick was awesome! But then, I may be bias, as I have always been a fan of his Chuck Bass portrayal, in fact it is mainly due to him and the intense chemistry between him and Blair that has kept me watching Gossip Girl! But enough of this digression. The main reason I enjoyed his character Johnny in this film, is because it was lovely seeing him play a genuinely nice character! He is definitely on my list of fave young English actors to watch, in fact he probably tops it, and I’m from the generation that loves all of the main leads in the Harry Potter Series, and enjoyed the Twilight saga (though the last film not so much!) Also, Ed does amazing accents- and he’s my age! Great bit from him is where he gets hit in the crotch- his facial expression is priceless! Anyhow, enough of this rant! It’s really enjoyable, I’m gutted I didn’t watch it in the cinema- could not find anyone to go with me! Plus Tamsin’s also very good! My only gripe is that Sophia Bush is too good for the role she plays- having been a massive fan of OTH since its origins in 2003! She is awesome as Brooke- so I was disappointed seeing her play this weak supporting role, although she does do a good job! Especially the bit where she breaks her legs! So don’t hesitate in buying this- I really enjoyed it- and have watched it quite a bit now!

Review: A warm romantic comedy that brings the audience to Austria and the Chalet world of Kim the new Chalet Girl. Great acting, along with a stunning location and a strong story about struggling to find purpose after family crisis. A feel good funny film worth watching and it is a perfect film to watch when skiing or snowboarding and looking to warm up in a chalet in the night.
